Dangerous Intimacy: The Untold Story of Mark Twain’s Final Years will use the dramatized voices of Twain and the principals based on their diaries and unpublished memoirs; a narrative based on Karen Lystra's book from the University of California Press; and spellbinding dramatizations to bring the story to life. Produced by Richard Altomonte (Yesterday’s Time), the documentary will use archival photographs and vintage film – as well as revisiting key locations, Redding, Connecticut and the Twain summer home in Elmira, New York – to recreate the look and feel of the time and capture the tension and drama of the events.

Production is nearly complete. Key scenes have been filmed, including the recreation of a fateful, snowy Christmas morning at "Stormfield", Twain's final home, and an interview in Hartford with author Karen Lystra. Selected scenes have been edited for preview. (View "Preview" above.) “Dangerous Intimacy” is produced in HD and is intended for broadcast, public television or cable release. It will be available in all media in the US and throughout the world in time to commemorate the Centennial of Mark Twain's death in 2010.
